The Uprising Creative teamed up with NCompass International to produce two zombie escape rooms at Comic Con 2015 to promote Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. From the second they stepped foot into the area, participants were immersed in the game’s universe. Costumed actors greeted them, showed them a TUC-produced introduction video, then invited them to enter one of two experiences, The Burlesque Club or The Magician’s Lair - actual locations from the game. Once inside, the groups had eight minutes to solve the puzzles needed to escape before zombie actors clawed their way inside. Upon completion, participants exited the rooms to find two greenscreen photo booths where they could take pictures of themselves escaping the zombie attacks, as well as monitors playing back highlights from both rooms. The activation was open to the public for three days and had an estimated throughput of 2200 people.
