The Uprising Creative: Blacktops and Truck Stops
The Uprising Creative Take It On The Road, October 5th-October 19th, 2010

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — SEPTEMBER 28TH, 2010 — ECHO PARK, CA — In the first trip of its kind, The Uprising Creative is taking their design studio on the road, heading cross country October 5th – October 19th, 2010 in an RV outfitted as a mobile design studio, with a couple motorcycles in tow. With cameras rolling, the trip will be documented from start to finish with an anticipated documentary film / web series to be digitally released in early 2011.
Inspiration and ideas are fleeting concepts. The mission of this trip is get inspired by Americana and share a love of art and design with everyone The Uprising Creative comes in contact with on the road — from music events, art galleries, designers and clients, to gas stations, RV parks, and roadside coffee shops.
The entire trip will be captured digitally on video and in photos, from the forgiving peace of being on the road and the overtly strange roots of this great country, to an intimate look inside the design process and the people that make The Uprising Creative tick.

Along the way, the team will be connecting with other designers and visiting many of America’s majestic – as well as odd – places. They will be stopping at an art school or two along the way to give talks about following your inspiration and turning a love and talent for design into a truly creative – and profitable – career, as well as seeding special products from various clients via twitter and social networks as they stop from town to town.
Additionally, The Uprising will be visiting with at-risk youth centers in various cities to talk about life choices and art, from personal experience, expressing to these youth that following your dreams can actually lead to a successful future, despite your current situation. Additionally the team is hoping to work with local charities in New Orleans and Los Angeles – more info to follow.
One of the first major stops on the trip will be in Austin for the Austin City Limits Music Festival and the official aftershow with Sonic Youth at La Zona Rosa on October 9th, 2010, presented by Nixon Watches. The Uprising Creative was tapped by Nixon to create the limited edition posters and marketing collateral for the show and will be on site with local Austin-based screen-print shop Obsolete Industries’ owner Billy Bishop, who will be doing live screen-printing of these limited edition posters.
The Uprising Creative will be covering ground in the South and Southwest, making stops in Austin, Birmingham, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Memphis, Nashville, New Orleans, Phoenix, Reno, Sacramento, San Francisco, Tucson and many other small towns and cities along the way.
