For anyone who downloaded the plugin from the WordPress Plugin Repository this morning, please re-download it HERE.
We had an issue with the WordPress.org repository this morning that caused the initial deployment of the plugin to break. This new link is tested and working perfectly. Damn gremlins!

About 2 weeks ago we were tapped by Topspin to pickup development of their official WordPress plugin. We develop a lot of sites with WordPress these days and were eagerly awaiting the new plugin, so it was a bit of a shock – and a huge honor – to get tapped by Bob, Ian and crew to actually take over it’s development and build it from the ground up.
This new version is not really an upgrade from the last, it’s really a full-scale rebuild. The idea was to develop a plugin that allows Topspin artists to quickly and easily integrate their Topspin Offers into customized, sortable, and dynamically generated Store Pages.Additionally we wanted to create something that could fit into the Artist’s current site template quickly, allowing Store Pages to be fully developed and integrated in no more than an hour.
We feel we’ve accomplished this. That said, the plugin is far from perfect. Check out the docs to see what we’re planning for the Roadmap. We’ll be actively developing the plugin to keep adding functionality. If you notice anything “off”, or if you have an idea for future development, let us know!
In the next week or so we’ll be creating a micro-site home for the plugin with more info, etc. For now, it can be found in the WordPress.org Repository, or over on GitHub.
Download and drop it in your Plugins directory. Then follow the install instructions and get your store up and running in no time!
Please read the docs before installing! And please note – you must remove old versions of the plugin before installing this version. This version will not update or overwrite your previous version as it’s a complete rebuild.

If you are down in Austin and actually hitting some of the industry events, you may have heard the news about the new joint venture between Topspin and Downtown Music / RCRD LBL called RCRD Deals. If you haven’t, you can check out a little write up about it HERE.
As described by Digital Music News, RCRD Deals is a premium music retail channel that focuses on high-end, bundled, and scarce items, with highly-interested music fans in mind. And as Josh Deutche told Digital Music News, “We’re really looking at premium products only. What we don’t want to do is offer something that is in-market and already available.”
We’ve been doing a lot of work with Topspin lately and we were tapped by Ian Rogers early on in the formation of RCRD Deals to develop the overall branding and site design, as well as develop the site itself.
We’re full scale into development right now, but you can check out our handy work with the logo at the splash page we just launched – and sign up to be among the first to know when the site goes live.
As mentioned by Bob M. from Topspin in his latest webcast, and by Ian R. in the Topspin forums, we’re working on the brand new Topspin WordPress plugin. Rebuilding it from scratch (with some help from the original code created by New Black), it’s going to be pretty solid.
The first new version will make it quick and easy to get a store up and integrated into any WordPress site, and the roadmap we’re developing for the plugin will keep adding features and performance optimization as we go. So keep an eye out! We should be putting this out on Tuesday, 3/15!
The Foo Fighters are a long time client. Not only design, but also merchandise development / consulting, and this year web development / consulting (more on that next week…)
With the Foo Fighters new record, Wasting Light, set to be released for April 12th, we’ve been working with the band on a ton of new merch designs and product development. We haven’t debuted any of it yet, but it’s pretty killer stuff this time around.
We’ve also been working with them on creating their album pre-order packages to sell through their online store. They just put them up for sale here. The standard CD/shirt and vinyl/shirt packs are there, but we also helped them come up with a deluxe package that includes a bunch of great stuff for the real Foo fan.
CD, vinyl, digital download, shirt, beer coosie, iron-on patch, wristband.. that’s all the standard stuff. But then there’s also the limited edition hand numbered Litho of the album cover that is signed by the band, along with a 3×5 acrylic case that’s laser engraved with the band’s logo, album name, and limited edition number. That case is to hold a special treat that comes with the CD..
Head over to the Foo Fighters Online Store to grab yours before they’re gone!
