So, as any of you who were in NYC for the Nixon Art Mosh know, the event was huge. Huge turn out, great art, great performances, and great people all around. Big thanks to Chad, Mike, and the rest of the Nixon crew for inviting us out for this one and trusting us with the night’s event poster. Check out our installation for the even below.

You can kind of get the effect from the photos here. These are mixed-media pieces UV printed on 1/2″ plexiglass. The main image and the color hit is printed on the front, the clouds on the back of the plexi, all mounted 1/2″ off the wall with a light grey base under it. The effect in person is of a layered piece, with the building and subway maps floating above the clouds, and the clouds above the wall. Turned out great. We’ll be installing these in the studio if you want to come see them in person, and they should make it to the LA Art Mosh when it rolls through town.

As you can see, the guys next to us went BIG. Our installation was 7ft long and 4ft high. So there’s was like 50ft by 20ft or some shit. Needless to say, inspired us to go much bigger on EVERYTHING we do.

For the lucky ones at the event, you got to take one of these posters home at the end of the night. We have a stash if anyone wants one who wasn’t there, just hit us up.

Great write-up on the mission of Art Mosh.

You can check out the rest of the gallery from the event here, here.
So if you’re in NYC tonight, hit up Nixon Art Mosh from 8pm – 11pm to say hey to Simon and Darren, and grab one of these Limited Edition Posters. They’re first come, first serve and free to those that come by – and you can even get it signed by the guys. Plus, we have this awesome art installation when you walk in.
For those of you not in NYC tonight, we’ll post pictures from the show next week. And we MIGHT get some of these posters back in or hands to sell through the online store, if any are left!

We’re happy to announce that we’ll be showing an installation based on screen-printed design at the upcoming Nixon Art Mosh in New York on September 17th. We’ve also designed the screen-printed posters to commemorate the event that will be given to everyone who attends, first come first serve.
Should be a blast and although we can’t reveal details on our installation or the poster yet, we’ll have more details and images after the event for those who aren’t in the NYC area. It’s going to be awesome. Being one of our first true gallery shows, we’re bringing it. Big thanks to Nixon for believing in us and inviting us to participate.
If you’re in NYC on September 17th and want to come by, say hey, and check out all the other great artists on display, RSVP here. We’d love to see some friends!

Big thanks to Dan over at Indie Labs for the love on the Jenny and Johnny Online Store we built on their Big Cartel platform last week. We love you guys too!
“We have a few ways we like to give special attention to Big Cartel stores, sometimes it’s a feature, sometimes it’s a few shots of beautiful products, or in this case it’s a full blown crush…”
“Jenny and Johnny just launched a Big Cartel store in support of their current project and, in true Jenny Lewis style, it’s got our attention…”

We’ve been working with Notable Music since earlier this year on the conceptualization, design and development of their new site. It’s been a great process and has yielded some fantastic results. The site has a great look and overall vibe, really tapping into both the vintage and the current elements that Notable represents. The team is great and we definitely look forward to working on more with them.
This site is built on WordPress but as you can see from just clicking around, it’s much more than just another WordPress site. We’ve harnessed a ton of jQuery, HTML5 and CSS3 to really push it forward from a functionality standpoint on the front-end. And under the hood, the site takes 9 separate types of content and cross-relates everything using a lot of custom functions. For example, take an individual artist’s page. It pulls in videos, audio streams, photo galleries, and the artist’s music releases from other sections on the site automatically to create a full scale overview of the artist and everything they are about.
It’s pretty fancy if we do say so ourselves and we’re definitely proud of this one. Check it out and give Notable some love, you dig!
